The Yadkin Valley Pumpkin Festival
The 29th Annual Yadkin Valley Pumpkin Festival will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM in Downtown Elkin!
Join us for a full day of fall fun, live entertainment, local vendors, delicious food, family-friendly activities, and giant pumpkins throughout Downtown Elkin.
Free shuttles will run throughout the festival to help visitors get around and enjoy everything the event has to offer. Shuttle pick-up and drop-off locations will also be available at the Elkin Elementary School and Elkin Middle School parking lots, making it easy to park and ride to the festival.
The annual Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off begins at 9:00 AM and typically concludes around 1:00 PM at 257 Standard Street. Growers may register their fruit from 7:00–9:00 AM. Come see incredible pumpkins and watermelons grown by competitors from across the East Coast! Some of these giant entries can weigh more than 1,000 pounds, with growers hoping to earn a spot among the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth's top competitors.
The Kids Zone will be located in front of the large stage near the Yadkin Valley Heritage Center. Families can enjoy inflatables and activities for children, while the large stage will feature live performances and entertainment throughout the day.
Main Street in Downtown Elkin will be filled with live music, food, shopping, activities, and vendors of every description. Festivalgoers can explore everything from antiques and handcrafted gifts to functional pottery, wood furnishings, baked goods, pumpkin-themed treats, funnel cakes, BBQ, Polish sausages, sand art, pumpkin painting, and so much more. Bring your family and friends, enjoy the beautiful fall season in Downtown Elkin, and spend the day celebrating one of the Yadkin Valley's favorite traditions.
